Although Eriksson was from Norwegian blood, he was originally born in Iceland in 960-ad. His birth had taken place on the property that his father, Erick the Red, had left. During 887 AD, Leif was forced to move to Greenland, as his father had been banned from Iceland, and had previously been banned from Norway. Leif and his family had established the first settlement in 'The New World', Greenland.
