What was his childhood like?
Like most Vikings, Eriksson was sent away to Norway to live and be trained by another family. In Vikings, this was mostly common in males, rather than females.
When Eriksson had reached the age of twelve years old, he was considered a man, and was able to go back home, to his original family. His father, Erick the Red had been ordered to be sent away, as he had got himself in to trouble.
Leif had grew to be an imposing man and was known for good judgement and honest.
